The International Workshop on Flood Risk and Climate Change Adaptation (FRCCA) supported by ANSO collaborative research project, the Newton Advanced Fellowship, and Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research (IGSNRR-CAS) was held online on 11 February 2022. More than 120 experts and specialists from ANSO, University of Gothenburg, Nottingham Trent University, International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development, University of Melbourne, Shiraz University, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, Tribhuvan University, Tra Vinh University, Northwestern Institute of Eco-environment and Resources (CAS), Carnegie Institution for Science, National University of Singapore, University of Oxford, University Corporation for Atmospheric Research, Tsinghua University, Yunnan University, University of the Highlands and Islands, and Beijing Normal University attended the conference.

This international and interdisciplinary FRCCA workshop focuses on the GBM river basin, which has been plagued by frequent flooding issues. Prof. Jinghua Cao, Executive Director of the ANSO Secretariat, Prof. Ming Zhang, Department of External Cooperation of IGSNRR-CAS, and Prof. Nigel Wright, Nottingham Trent University gave opening addresses for the workshop. The Principal Investigator of the ANSO collaborative research project of IGNRR-CAS introduced the overview of flood risk and climate change adaptation project in the GBM river basin. Speakers from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Indian Institute of Technology-Gandhinagar, Northwestern Institute of Eco-environment and Resources (CAS), Shiraz University, National University of Singapore, International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development, University of Oxford, University Corporation for Atmospheric Research, University of Melbourne, Tribhuvan University, and Tsinghua University shared their insights on flood risk and climate change adaptation in the GMB river basin. Prof. Deliang Chen (Fellow of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, Foreign Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor at University of Gothenburg) delivered a closing remark.
