The Asian Young Nanoscientist Forum 2023 (AsiaNANO 2023), a satellite meeting at the 9th International Conference on Nanoscience and Technology (ChinaNANO 2023), took place in Beijing on August 27th, 2023. More than 50 participants joined the session on site, most of whom were young scientists.
This event was jointly organized by the Asian Research Network (ARN), Korea, the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology of China (NCNST), and the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO), with the aim of enhancing communication, networking, cooperation and friendship among early-career scientists from Asian countries.

During the opening ceremony, Professor Zhao Yuliang, the Director of NCNST, Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Haiwon Lee from Hanyang University (South Korea), the Founder and President of ARN Korea, and Professor Jinghua Cao, Executive Director of the ANSO Secretariat all delivered addresses. They all emphasized the significant role of young scientists in advancing nanoscience, and extended warm welcome and best wishes to the participants of the Forum. Professor Zhao and Professor Cao particularly emphasized the importance of this young scientists forum in terms of strengthening the friendship and mutual understanding among the gifted young from Asian under the general challenging situation for international cooperation and exchange. The Forum was moderated by Professor Lee who is actually the initiator of this event.

Professor Taeghwan Hyeon from Seoul National University delivered the keynote speech entitled “How can we do exciting and excellent research,” offering valuable insights and inspiration to young researchers.
28 young scientists from China (including Hong Kong), Japan, South Korea, and India gave presentations on their research and shared their insights. Diverse topics were discussed, including nanobiology, nanoenergy, nanomaterials, and emerging nanoscience and technology.
The lineup of speakers included Associate Professor Il Jeon from Sungkyunkwan University (South Korea), Assistant Professor Jiseok Lee from the University of Ulsan (South Korea), Assistant Professor Tomohiro Noguchi from Kyushu University (Japan), Assistant Professor Tanujjal Bora from the Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand), and Associate Professor Renjie Zhou from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Alongside these experts, more than 20 other young Chinese scientists presented their research, sparking thought-provoking discussions.
