Details of the Lecture

In the second session, Prof. ZHU Xiangyu will provide a brief introduction to machine learning. This lecture will cover core concepts and methodologies, including Forms of Learning, Supervised Learning, Model Selection and Optimization, Linear Regression and Classification, Nonparametric Models, and Ensemble Learning.

Speaker Profile

ZHU Xiangyu is a Professor at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASIA). His research interest includes computer vision and AI4Science. He is awarded the “Young Biometrics Investigator Award (YBIA)” by the International Association of Pattern Recognition (IAPR) in 2023 (awarded biennially to one scholar under 40 worldwide). He has published more than 100 papers with total citation in Google Scholar being over 11000. He is an IEEE senior member and serves as the Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics & Security (T-IFS) and Pattern Recognition (PR), Program Chair of IJCB 2025.
